Tools for Adsense

1:58 PM

If you're just boarding on the AdSense train, and looking to find a quick way to make the profits you've seen all being pulled of all over the Internet, you might be interested in a couple of tools.

These software tools are designed to aid AdSense publishers in getting a better understanding on how traffic flows through their site. Some will help you in understanding which keywords gain you more money and which locations give you the best AdSense payment.

One of the best such tools available is AdSense Gold, which allows you to have a better understanding of which ads and formats actually get more clicks and which are useful or nearly useless. This program works by tracking views and clicks on all the publisher's pages. It even goes as far as offering you the possibility to see which referrer each visitor came in through.

There's a free tool called SynSense, which is more of an AdSense monitoring tool. This sits in the tray and offers actualized AdSense stats as you hover your mouse over its icon. It's a very nice tool for those which like to be informed on how their AdSense is doing at all times of the day.

Google provides you with stats in a csv format on their site. So someone made a tool that can automatically download such files and extract a lot of information from them. The name of this tool is CSV AdStats. It has a large number of features, including the possibility to highly customize reported stats, exporting data and charts to other formats. It's in French but the language can very easily be changed to English.

Of course any tool can only access these stats as often as 15 minutes but the authors are well aware of that fact and none of these tools will get you in trouble with Google because of that. If, however, you're browsing content most of the time, and your tool of choice is the Firefox Internet browser, there's an extension for this program that allows you to view the stats in your status bar.

Again, this software is aware of Google's 15 minute rule and enforces its usage, 15 minutes being the minimum time between updates. The Google AdSense notifier for Firefox can be obtained from http://code.mincus.com/?p=3.

There is also a program called Golden Keywords out there that helps you in getting the best keywords for your site. It's really efficient and very easy to use. It does come with a price tag though, it costs $35.91 and it can be obtained from http://www.regnow.com/softsell/nph-softsell.cgi?item=8616-2

So as you can see, software developers are making more and more programs meant to help you in your quest to maximize your AdSense profits. But before you go out looking for them remember that Google has a few features of its own as well.

It does offer some reports (albeit a bit more limited) and using the "channels" feature is a good way of finding out which ads on your site are really bringing in most of the revenue.

Be on the look out as new tools appear daily and make sure to invest time in your site, as that is the real key in success with AdSense.

How to Make Money Blogging

1:25 PM
There are two major types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first and most common way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell advertising to different companies and brands who want to reach that blog's readers. The second kind of money making blog is one that helps a single brand improve its image by creating positive associations between the blog and the product in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue. Within the first group, many people make money blogging by selling space through Google's AdSense program. The advantages of this program are numerous, as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most people discover that they make less money through this method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

Selling advertising directly to companies who want to put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route.
People who have a strong background in sales and are experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit of money by renting blog space to interested companies. The most serious problem with this model is that you often have to build quite a sizable readership before you
can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to do several months of work before you start to make money blogging.

As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative business, a lot of established companies are considering how they can get into the action. One way that companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for their corporation. Often, a company will employ an established blogger to create a weblog designed specifically to appeal to that company's customers and to create positive associations with the brand in
consumers' minds. More than one writer who never even dreamed that he or she could make money blogging has been approached by a company and offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.

Google Adsense - Content or Search?

3:03 PM
When advertising with pay per click Google gives the advertiser two broad options. Advertising in search results, advertising in websites content or indeed many choose to do both. Advertising in search means that results are displayed in Google under searches, and in its distributors search results. Google content advertising applies to those websites who choose to incorporate “Adsense” into their websites. As adsense rapidly expands, it is now viewable on millions of web pages throughout the web. However, many advertisers are shunning this in favor of merely advertising in search results.

There are several reasons for this, and the first is trust. This has been a result of smaller websites, through to adsense empires choosing to embark on Click Fraud. Although this issue occurs in search it is far less dominant. Those who commit Click Fraud on search are those trying to weaken a competitor’s ROI. With Adsense the same applies, along with the website owner trying to increase his revenues using similar tactics.

Another reason why website owners are choosing to market out with content is the motivation of the buyer when he is on a website. Someone who is on a different website, other than the advertisers might be there for entirely different reasons. For example a website discussing the disadvantages of Adsense, would actually return adverts for those selling “Adsense Websites” for example. People may click on it, but they are unlikely to buy after reading a negative review. The other reason could be that the person on the adsense website was actually looking for what is the best color palette to use. The person therefore would not find the advert relevant, but might click on the advert in a care free manner.

Adsense websites are also often rejected by the advertiser because they feel it involves more administration. Checking through websites to see how relevant they are, and editing their bids to ensure they still appear on a page. With some words having a network of over 500 websites, it is surely a tedious and expensive task. Although this is the case, many also find that their Adwords account returns websites, that don’t even appear to be trying to support their keywords. The example which is ripe, are those advertising under legal phrases who appear on adsense websites “terms and conditions” and “privacy policy” pages.

Although many are rejecting content advertising, there are still those who feel it provides a similar ROI to search. A reason for this can be found through in the fact that more and more advertisers are only choosing search. As this occurs the advertiser has less competition so the price of the word reduces. Advertisers are also finding a good ROI from publisher’s websites who decide to actively promote the advertiser’s services within their content. An example of this can be realized from when someone is discussing printing services, and actually directly recommends the advertiser’s services. This is a positive move for both the publisher and the advertiser, and a good way for publishers to move forward. Despite this, publishers still have to remember, to not be too obvious in doing this, or savvy buyers will definitely calculate the publisher’s intention.

Another reason why advertisers are opting for content is to increase their scale, however this can also be done across other search engines. The fact however still exists that those who choose content advertising should choose the Google Adsense network. It is regulated far and above yahoo’s and others equivalents whilst its superior network of publishers means the advertisers will benefit from being able to spread their message through a diverse range of websites.
Despite Adsense being the best PPC content distributor, it certainly doesn’t compare to search for the advertiser. On search the leads are more qualified, more regulated, and less fraudulent. This has seen advertisers consistently choose search over content. Despite this advertiser’s should always test adsense and see if it can provide the ROI they are looking for. Some advertisers say that content provides a better return for their business than search. This varies, however in general search remains King for PPC advertisers.

5:00 PM
Internet marketing is surrounded by facts that every aspiring online entrepreneur should know. Although you have heard several success stories about individuals who succeeded and earned thousands to millions of dollars through Internet marketing, they are also bounded by these facts existing around the industry.

First, just like the typical business investment, you cannot make a fortune overnight on Internet marketing. Successful Internet marketers have spent several years to perfect their marketing strategies. They have started from studying the “ins and outs” of the business opportunity, applied existing strategies, formulated their own marketing strategies, and test their new strategies to their marketing business. Although Internet marketing offers a lucrative business opportunity for everyone, it takes some time before you could earn millions of dollars through Internet marketing. You will start from several hundreds and after several months or years, you will be able to earn thousands of dollars on Internet marketing revenues.

Second, your competitors will always be your competitors. There are instances wherein they will use you for their advantage. Of course, we do not want to ruin friendships here, but it is a fact that you must be careful of. You can work hand in hand with other Internet marketers, but you must ensure that you are not working with “hungry predators” or those who will not use your generosity for their advantage of earning more money.

Lastly, getting potential clients is the hardest part of your Internet marketing career. Remember that the success of your Internet marketing business will depend on how you will attract potential clients coming from the majority of traffic around the Internet. Even if you have a well-designed website with useful facilities such as information catalogs and shopping cart services, once you failed to attract large web traffic towards your site, your Internet marketing business will be of total failure.

Among the aforementioned facts, the last one is what you need think of most. As previously mentioned, the success of your Internet marketing career depends on how you build your clientele base. Such clientele base will serve as your “bloodline” that will keep your marketing career alive. Without them, the Internet marketing industry will remain to be a dream for individuals who want to earn more money.

If you want to attract potential clients and convert them into loyal product evangelizers, you must learn the whereabouts of Internet marketing promotion and advertising. Promoting and advertising your Internet marketing is crucial to your website and to your career as well. Through these strategies, you will be able to attract motivated people who are willing to purchase whatever you are offering. Taking time to create some buzz about your website will keep them coming back and create an intriguing impression to those individuals who haven’t got a try of your products or services.

Promotion and advertising will help you get the targeted traffic that you want in the early run of your Internet marketing career. In fact, the cost of promoting and advertising your site on the Internet is not as expensive as advertising your products and services through conventional methods such as billboards and classified ads of different newspapers. Even if you do not have that large marketing budget, you can still promote and advertise your site using various alternative and low-cost promotional methods.

So what are the characteristics of a good Internet marketing promotion and advertising? Take a look on the following items and make sure that your promotion and advertising tools possess these characteristics:

• It must have a long-lasting effect. Do not just use an advertising medium once and discard it. Find ways on how you will be able to use it for several times. You may use a similar approach on each advertising tool and create customer familiarity with the advertising tool as well as the product or service you are advertising. Think of several successful promotions and advertisement such as for Energizer batteries and others.

• An effective Internet marketing promotion and advertising have variations. Do not just stick with a single ad format. Change the color, text, and the message of your advertisements but do not alter its feature character. The alterations must be done in the consideration of a long-lasting ad effect.

Do not be afraid to explore new options. If you think these new ideas will help you promote and advertise your Internet marketing business effectively, then do it. The more you broaden your promotion and advertising efforts, you will be able to succeed in your Internet marketing business career.

How to fail in MLM marketing

4:09 PM
A few problems that some new MLM marketing people have:

1. No upline support

Once a person joins a new MLM marketing program, he or she is vulnerable and needs a lot of help from something or someone.

In many cases, the uplines are not actively helping them. This happens a lot when the uplines are simply sponsoring as many people as they can with no regard to what happens to them after they get sponsored.

In most standard MLM marketing programs, it is important that the new person gets immediate assistance from a local person, or tools that you have. Otherwise their chances for survival are very slim.

2. New MLM marketers cannot sell

This is probably the major reason most people do not make it MLM marketing. By using standard MLM techniques, you have got to sell and learn how to speak at opportunity meetings and the like.

3. MLM'er cannot generate good leads

Next to the selling problem, this has to be the next biggest reason most people fail in MLM marketing.

Here is a picture of what normally happens. The new person has just signed up in an exciting MLM program. He is taught by the manuals, meetings and so forth, how he should "share" his product with his friends, neighbors and relatives.

Normally, he is not comfortable with this, and if he is typical, he will have many sleepless, tossing and turning nights. He just doesn't want to "impose" on his friends! He would feel a lot more comfortable just presenting his opportunity to strangers.

4. No true duplicative system

If the MLM marketing company must be promoted through expensive methods, this is not feasible.
Learning how to sell, or to speak and conduct an opportunity meeting is just not duplicative. Only a few people can do this. Here again, is a very important reason a lot of would be MLM'ers die on the vine.

5. Selling by mail using standard MLM techniques

Traditional way to marketing MLM is to spend all spare time to call around and travel around to get prospects. A lot of people already have full time job, it is hard to find extra time to travel and make phone calls. This is why these MLM marketers cannot keep their program going.

6. The marketer is not sure about the MLM marketing company or service

Often a person will sign up in a MLM marketing program in a "fit of excitement." After the dust clears, he comes down to earth and reality slowly sets in.

Pick an established and financially sound MLM company that is at least two years old with unquestionable products or services. That way, you can feel good about the company and products that you are promoting. There is nothing quite like being able to "tell the complete truth" to your prospective customers.

7. They do not stick with it long enough

Starting any company takes time, and this is true with an MLM marketing program as well.
By the time you study the program, write and receive literature: study this and sign up; get the literature, etc. a lot of time has been spent. And then you have to generate your leads and so on.

It will take several months before you can expect much of anything to happen to your MLM marketing. You should set in your mind that you are going to stick with this for at least sometime. That just makes good business sense.

Cash and Pay-per-click Affiliate Programs

3:57 PM
Millions are paying to get a ride on the Information Super Highway everyday. Now, it is widely known that the Internet is an accessible resource of many income-generating activities. Whether you belong to a private sales company or you are just interested in internet marketing, PPC affiliate programs can be a powerful venue to make money from the Internet. A partnership with an affiliate merchant is a win-win situation for the merchant and the affiliate: sales are soaring because of exposure and traffic while the affiliate is earning good cash.

To make things much simpler: the affiliate merchant provides a strip of advertisement and pays you when someone clicks on the ad’s link. You can get a commission of $0.10 to $0.30 for every click, but it sometimes it can go higher depending on your merchant affiliate. Sometimes, merchants require a quota ($1.4 for every 1000 clicks). Plus, you can get discounts from your merchant affiliates if you happen to like their products too. You can just kick back and relax while your website is generating cash. Sounds easy, doesn’t it?

What is PCC Affiliate Program?

PPC means pay-per-click, wherein you get in partnership with an affiliate company that literally pays you for every click. There are actually two types of PCC affiliate programs – those who pay a commission based on the number of clicks and the other based on the sales. The pay-per-click scheme is much more popular than pay-per-lead because the affiliate gets paid by just clicking the ad, regardless of whether the visitor buys from the affiliate merchant or not. Plus the chances of a visitor purchasing something from the affiliate merchant are not really that high.

In choosing an affiliate program, read the fine print carefully – some pay-per-click programs get the ratio of the number of people who went to your site and the actual people who clicked on the ad. If you have a heavily targeted website, this can hurt your earnings.

How do I start?

Of course, you need to have a website. Depending on your target audience, choose the best affiliate merchant that is most related to your topic. For example, your website is about Carpentry then you can search for affiliate programs that sell tools used in carpentry.

However, if you don’t have a website, that’s not a problem. You can put up a content site about absolutely anything under the sun like ‘Taking Care of Dogs’ or ‘Decorating your own Home.’ But wait, its not over yet. We are faced by a dilemma – on how to increase traffic! You first need to get internet surfers to see your website, then the ad.

How do I increase my traffic?

First, design your website in such a way that it will attract internet users. A user-friendly site is always recommended so that the customers will know which one to click. Take into consideration the look and feel of the advertisement. If it doesn’t look professional, most likely, users will just ignore it. Place the ad on a strategic location – one where users can see it clearly. Visibility of the ad is always important.

Another way is to post a link to your website in forums, web communities, ezine articles or bulletin boards. However, this method requires a lot of effort – that defeats your purpose of getting easy money in the first place! The key is to do something once and forget about it. It’s like putting your business on autopilot. To maintain you pay-per-click business, be sure to track down site activity, so you are updated on how much money you are making.

Can I make more money?

If you think you can go to the next level, you can try a two-tier affiliate program. This gives you the power to recruit affiliates. Other than the money you get from your website’s clicks, you will also get a percentage of what your affiliate generates. Some companies give 30% to a soaring 50% commission on all referral sales.

Remember, you should be able to manage and monitor your affiliate program. If you can recruit more affiliates, then you can get paid more without even moving a finger! Choose affiliates that can most likely attract more internet users and bring more traffic. You just have to know the right people.

How to Increase CTR and to Get More AdSense Impressions to Your Site?

6:40 PM

You should first of all make sure you're making use of the AdSense channels. Don't just create 1 channel for all your ads but instead 1 for each ad. By this I mean that if you have a standard layout for all your pages of your site and for example have 3 ads, one below the header, one in the sidebar, and one in the footer, you should create 3 channels and name them appropriately (e.g. "header","sidebar" & "footer").

make a better blending

block the mfa sites

use section targeting

Once you've done that you can start playing around with placement and blending to achieve the best results.

The best way to see which works best is to use A/B testing where you compare 2 variations at the same time. Always remember that ad optimization is an on going trial and error process.

As trichinosis has already mentioned, section targeting would also be a good way to increase your CTR but ONLY if your ads are unrelated to your site content. Be careful when you implement section targeting though as incorrect use can make the relevancy of the ads worse.

How do I get more adsense impressions to my site?

It's all about the content.

And then how you promote it.

Original and unique content will get you good rankings in the Search Engines results as SE's love to index fresh content.

So all you're doing is scraping content from other sites, be it article sites, news articles, wikipedia pages, then you will have less chance of being indexed or ranked well because it is duplicate content.

If you can get indexed then Search Engine traffic is of excellent quality. From personal experience people who come via Google are more likely to click on Adsense ads. Because they've found your page from a deliberate search and they find an ad in context with the content.

Next on the agenda, how do you promote your site?

I'm not going to give any tips on promotion because each site is different. But if all you've done is made a website and update occasionally (even regularly) and do nothing more than that then watch the stats in your Adsense control panel then the site isn't going to grow in traffic.

10 Great things NOT to do with Google AdSense

6:27 PM
There is no question that you can make some good money with Google AdSense, but you’re setting yourself up for disaster if you make any of these Top 10 mistakes!

1. Do not use fake information when opening your Google AdSense account.

Google says that’s a no-no and they will cut your account off and keep all the money you may have earned. Besides, trying to hide your true identity can cause serious problems with the I.R.S. or whoever your tax authority is.

2. Do not hack or modify Google AdSense code other than to change the parameters that Google authorizes you to change.

Any attempt to bypass Google’s built-in algorithms not only poses a danger to the integrity of the network, but it threatens the financial modle that Google operates under. You’re not dealing with some Mom-and-Pop company here, and Google has the legal muscle and deep enough pockets to drag you through every court in the land if you damage their business with your hacking antics.

3. Keep AdSense ads off of your registration, confirmation, and all "thank you" pages.

Don’t ask me why you can’t put your ads there. It makes sense to me that those would be wonderful locations. Google thinks otherwise, however, and doing so is a hanging offense according to their Terms of Service.

4. Do not display AdSense ads and a competitor's ads (like Overture's) on the same page at the same time.

That just makes plain good sense. Google doesn’t demand 100% SITE loyalty from you, but they do insist that their own ads not be cluttered up by offerings from their competitors.

5. Don't "beg for clicks" or provide any incentive for clicking on your Google AdSense ads.

This is a biggie and you see this rule violated all the time. Any of the “get paid to do stuff” sites that put Google ads in the member’s control panels are walking the plank and they don’t even realize it. Even those sites with the polite little messages asking you to “help keep my site running by clicking on our sponsor’s ads” are asking to be cut off if those happen to be Google ads.

6. Never click on the ads running on your own site, even if you are genuinely interested in the product or service and are thinking of buying it!

Nothing screams FRAUD louder than a webmaster running up his or her own click counts by happily clicking on ads fromtheir own site. The Google Gods can track this activity and it won’t be long until you find yourself getting a goodbye note from their fraud team.

7. No misleading labeling

Google is very specific about what text can be placed around their ads. Their Terms of Service state: “Publishers may not label the ads with text other than ‘sponsored links’ or ‘advertisements.’ This includes any text directly above our ads that could be confused with, or attempt to be associated with Google ads.”

This is to keep visitors from becoming confused and barking up Google’s tree when they clicked on an ad that led to a porn site instead of the recipe site they were expecting to visit.

8. Avoid keyword spamming and other divisive tricks

You may be tempted to buy one of those “generates thousands of key-word rich pages in seconds” programs that are so popular these days but I’ll tell you this: Their days are numbered. Google is wise to such shenanigans and they will be hot on your trail. Other prohibited gimmicks include:

• ”Sneaky” page redirects that send a visitor off to a different site then they were expecting to visit.

• Multiple sites, domains, pages, etc. which have substantially duplicate content.

• Hidden text or links of any type.

• Excessive outbound links on any page. Google recommends no more than 100. I’d keep it way below that.

• And here is a nugget of wisdom straight from Google’s mouth: “Do not participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank. In particular, avoid links to web spammers or "bad neighborhoods" on the web as your website may be affected adversely by those links.

9. Don’t advertise anything on Google’s prohibited items list.

It’s a lot shorter lists than PayPal’s or eBay’s, but it includes a lot of the same stuff like hacking/cracking content, porn, illegal drugs, gambling sites, beer or hard alcohol (I guess wine is OK), weapons, and the other usual stuff.

10. And the 10th dumbest thing NOT to do with Google AdSense is to let the other nine things stop you from running an honest site that’s designed to make the most out of this very profitable opportunity that Google offers!

10 Adsense Tips for Maximum CTR

5:37 PM

1. You should make your Adsense ads look as a part of your web page
They shouldn't look like an Ad. People are negative to advertising. They search the internet for content not ads. Especially Banners have a less of 0,5% response. Their days are over. Imagine if you have an Adsense ad looking like the typical Banner with different colors. It will not be profitable.

2. Text ads are better than image ads
Like before, people are more responsive to text than images. In a way it is considered as a part of the online document and has higher CTR.

3. No Border ads
One of the best tricks is to erase the borders of Adsense ads and make them again having the same color with your website's background.

4. No other advertisements
The first reason is to be legitimate according to Google's Rules and the second more practical reason is that you do not want to distract your visitor's attention and go somewhere else without clicking your Adsense ads.

5. Placement
Even if you have the best Ad, people will not respond if they don't see it instantly. The best place to see the ad is the top of your web page and the next is aside your document's text. Visitors will click it more frequently since it will look like your text.

6. Traffic
Try to use legitimate ways of traffic. Some people use Google Adwords and other Pay per Click search engines. The problem here is to search very carefully for the right niche and keywords in order to make your campaigns profitable. Other ways is link popularity techniques like link exchange directories, software or even mass blog submission techniques. Don't use link farms and classifieds for that, because search engine's algorithms are extremely clever and they will ban your listings.

7. Do not rely on one website
Yes you can make money with one website but try to make as more as possible.

8. Relevant content is King
Articles are one of the best tactics to create huge websites that will be crawled by search engine's robots. Don't forget search engines exist to provide relevant content at first. One excellent resource to automate your article directory procedure is http://www.articleequalizer.com. You can create an article database in minutes which otherwise is time consuming and it would take you a week!

9. Use site maps
Google's site maps visit your site and crawl it much sooner that any other submission process. More information is here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps

10. Relevant ads
It's one of the most important factors for Adsense success. If the internet user can't find relevant ad in your page he or she won't click the ad. Would you act differently? So it's critical to create relevant resource for your web page.

How To Avoid Getting Your Adsense Account Terminated?

3:09 PM
Google, being the undisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance.

For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts
Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking
There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions
Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL?s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms
Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale
If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways
This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another ?user-friendly? page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content
In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP's, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites.

Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.

How Google AdWords work?

3:06 PM

Google's sponsored listings appear on the top and on the right-hand side of regular search results.

The basic concept of PPC bidding is that advertisers bid for particular search terms (= keywords). The highest bidder gets his/her advertisement displayed at the top of the sponsored listings next to Google's search results. The second highest bidder gets the next sponsored listing and so on.

However, Google Adwords work differently than most of the other Pay-Per-Click search engines such as Overture, FindWhat etc. Google does not simply put the highest bidder's advertisement at the top of the list. It also ranks the advertisements according to their popularity. Therefore, if more people click on an advertisement it will get higher ranking and better position.

In conclusion, your ad's position is determined by following factors: your daily budget, maximum cost-per-click, your ad's actual click through rate and your average ad's position.

From the above, you can not directly control your ad's actual click through rate and average position. Therefore managing your keywords on Google AdWords is a big challenge and usually consumes a great deal of time.

If you do not manage your keyword bids properly, you will waste your advertising money on Google Adwords. A good way to get around this is to use automated bid management software available on the market today. In general, those tools allow you to control your ads listing based on rules you specify.

Does having Adsense ads hurt chances of getting into DMOZ?

3:13 AM
According to DMOZ editors who have posted on other forums there are basically two schools of thought on this.

There are some very strict editors who won't allow any sites with any affiliate links. There are other editors who feel content is the important factor in determining the worth of a site to DMOZ.

The DMOZ standard is content, unique above all, whether it contains affiliate links or not is irrelevant. The sites are supposed to be judged as if there were no affiliate or outside links at all. Would the site stand on its own as a good content site with uniqueness? If so, it should be included, if not, it should not be included.

We all know that DMOZ has its share of poor quality sites ... some even with nothing but affiliate links and no unique content. Some domains were bought out and replaced with less than quality content. It happens. Nothing we can do about that.

However, if your site has quality content with a unique view/presentation or other factor that makes it different, then affiliate links should not stand in your way.

If your site gets rejected, you can post at the DMOZ forum requesting more info, you can also ask the status of your submission 4 weeks after you have submitted (not before!). It might do you well to browse the DMOZ forum and get a feel for what you are up against. Some categories haven't been updated, and sites have been queued for over 6 months ... patience is a virtue at DMOZ

Ad Placement for Adsense

6:07 AM
Google's Heatmap as given in the link above is a great general guideline for sites with conventional layout - but it is certainly not the ONLY successful strategy. The size of the ads as tested via tracking scripts show that the square/rectangular ads generally outperform banners and skyscrapers.

It's always advisable that your ads (If in fact you want them to be clicked) are what is commonly referred to as "above the fold" meaning the ads are viewable on screen when a visitor first hits your site. Above the fold will differ based on screen size and resolution. Remember the killer big hi res screen you are working on may not show the same area as the 14" notebook screen your visitor may be using.

There is "banner blindness" associated with many of the banner and skyscraper formats.

And yes there is some school of thought that says to "blend" your ads with your text, in this way they appear to be part of the content to many users. While this tactic is bit deceptive in practice it is not currently in voilation of Adsense TOS. It does work... but it is not the only method that works.

Script testing will show that people prefer blue and navy links - it's not reinventing the wheel that you are after - it's clicks. People know BLUE means "link".

I myself do very well on some sites with unconventional colors. I have found grey/silver on black to be very effective for me even on sites where it is totally out of sync with the color scheme of the site. It's an authoritative look - it means business - it means this is serious.

Unfortunately the above are only guidelines. I have many sites and many themes and many niches with which to test. Your best bet is to follow the basic general Google Heatmap guidelines, purchase a good tracking script and begin to test your own site. Find out what works for you.

I have a site that has a double figure click through rate using a 234 pixel banner ad!

The better you get at leading your visitor to the ad either visually or textually... and making sure the ads are truly targeted to the content of your page the more successful you will become.

There is no need to purchase this information as the people selling it are no more authoritative than any other seasoned adsense user - the key again is to test.

Build Up Your Blogs and Watch Your Adsense Cash Grow

6:05 AM
The best thing about blogging is that there are no rules. You can write about anything you want.
A self-publishers dream!

There are some things you can do though to maximize your Google Adsense
profits.

Narrow your subject. Don't just write about shopping. Write about shopping for antique dresser drawer pulls. Write every day. Have a blog at more than one site. If you develop a readership, youre more likely to increase your profits.

Write about something you know or want to know or at the very least care about. If you try to write a great blog based on a hot keyword? yet its something you could care less about, youll likely not stay with it long.

Experiment and see what works for you. You can write based on your own opinion or something factual. You can review a product or service or a movie. Read other peoples blogs and notice how many reads they're getting. Above all, have fun. After all, its free and if youre persistent youll see your Google Adsense dollars adding up.

Choosing The Right Free Blogging Tools
There are many free blogging tools on the market, but loading up your blog with all of the free accessories that you can find isn't necessarily a good idea. While it may be tempting to add a visitor counter, a flashy background, an exciting new font, and a cluster of quirky animated gifs to your blog, this kind of plan can easily backfire. The key to getting the most from free blog tools is being selective.

It is a great idea to learn about all of the kinds of free blogging tools that are available so that you can make an informed decision about what to add to your blog, but try to remember that just because you can have something doesn't mean that you need it. Practice restraint and only choose the options that you think will really be useful. If you can find out how many visitors are reading your blog by checking your traffic statistics, a visitor counter is likely to add
unnecessary clutter to your page.

If your blog is text-based, a flashy background can be more of a distraction than an benefit. Be realistic about assessing what kinds of blog accessories will help you realize your vision and improve your site. Remember that even a blog tool that doesn't cost you any cash may not be a asset in the long run.

How to close AdSense account! The hidden secret of Google!

8:31 AM
The Google AdSense has become a strong money making program for many publishers, but do you know that you could loose AdSense account if someone else closes your account? You are probably wondering how someone else can close your account? It is very easy and not mentioned by Google. If you want to know how that could affect you, read my story below and you will learn everything how to close someone's account or how your account could be closed without any possibility to re-apply to the AdSense program.

Some months ago, I had a website and I was a publisher of the AdSense program. I used the AdSense successfully for more than one year. I received some checks. Before my account was closed, I noticed some unusual click-through rates and the amount of money generated was a little higher than usual. That drew my attention, but I did not understand why. Without any warning about a potential disabling of my account, I received some weeks later an email mentioning the following message.

"It has come to our attention that invalid clicks have been generated on
the Google ads on your site(s). We have therefore disabled your Google
AdSense account. Please understand that this step was taken in an
effort to protect the interest of the AdWords advertisers."

"Publishers disabled for invalid click activity are not allowed further
participation in AdSense and do not receive any further payment."

Naturally, I was NOT the author of the fraudulent clicks and I did not want to destroy my business. I was aware that if I would generate fraudulent clicks, I could loose my account, but I did not expect that someone could do it in my back.

After receiving this message, I decided to contact the support team and I explained my situation. The support told me that I could appeal of the decision if I was not the author the invalid clicks. So, I wrote a long detailed letter explaining that I was not the author of the invalid clicks and I could not do anything. Google kept its decision and my account has been closed forever. Google AdSense does not have any phone number where you can speak to a true person.

Now here are the key points from my experience to determine if your account could be disabled by Google. You need to have a website with Google AdSense ads on your pages.

-Your statistics show a click-through rate around 30% instead of probably 1-2% (or just something not usual rate).
-Have this for 2 to 4 weeks.

For example, if you determine that a website has 1,000 pages viewed per day, that means you need 300 clicks to make a click-through rate of 30%. You can even generate them from a single page. In Internet Explorer, your hold the shift key to open a link in a new window (that will save you time). So, you do not loose your page with the ads. Just in couple of minutes, you can generate hundreds of clicks. Even a child can do it if you have no time.

I cannot believe that after 10 years of Internet, it is so easy to fraud! Naturally Google puts an end to this, but many webmasters loose their ad's revenues. Sadly, that creates more damages for the honest people, but I guess that is part of the business.

Because Google can monitor the IP address where the clicks come from, clicking on the ads will increase the click-though rate and it tells Google that the ads are mainly clicked by one person from one location. What is dangerous in that is the fact that Google cannot know if it is you or someone else clicking the ads. So, Google thinks that you are trying to make more money illegally and this is considered as fraud. Whatever it is you or someone else, the result is the same and Google disable the publisher account to protect its advertiser.

Now you know how weak a wonderful money program can be. It made some people rich, but some others lost their business or website revenues. You can always turn to other ad programs like AdBright (http://www.adbrite.com/). They even have a phone number! So they must care about the customer or people that help them to make money. Personally, I prefer to stay far from that for the moment and I prefer trying to sell online.

I am aware that this message can be a threat for some people or a malicious technique to hurt your competitors. I hesitated to make this fact public, but Google did not tell me the truth about the danger I risked with their advertising program. I lost my website revenues, which were my main revenues, and I lost my time. I believe that people have the right to know the truth that Google does not mention. Sometimes, it is better to know the truth sooner than later. I would not have opened an AdSense account if would have known this before.

Which Affiliate Programs Made You Money?

8:24 AM
My advice would be to focus on HOW to be successful at affiliate marketing first, the "good money" will come later.

Search through the affiliate directories, affiliate networks, CPA networks, affiliate OPM (outsourced program management firms) and find a few offers that interest you, that you think you might have fun promoting, and that you already have a bit of knowledge about. This will make the whole learning process a bit more interesting and less tedious.

Build your website, and try out a variety of promotional techniques to get traffic (PPC (small scale to start), Natural Search SEO, Article Marketing, List building, etc.) Play with your website design to see what provides the best conversions. Once you feel you're reaching some level of success, then start branching out into other niches and directions.

Just one affiliate program is not enough to guaranty a consistent income. What happens if that program goes out of business? The best way to go is to establish a multiple stream of income from different affiliates programs so when one went under, the rest continue to pay and every day life will not be disrupted. Building a passive income from several programs must be the foremost priority for everyone who wants to earn money for living from the Internet. This passive income is also called residual income.

Be patient, just like with any other industry, it generally takes some time and practice to get proficient.

Experiment a little and you'll discover your own "Best affiliate program".

Google Adsense Tips

4:26 AM
I've seen a lot of people saying they get a lot of traffic, but are unable to successful monetize this traffic. I tried and tested all these tips and they have all helped me increase my monthly paycheck from Google.

Beginner Tips
Blend Ads With Layout
Set the ad colors to match the colors of your background, link and text colors. By blending the ads, visitors won't ignore the ads and identify them
as ads. This is the best!

Image Ads
Don't count these out. They tend to get good clickthrough rate (CTR) because they are better at drawing a visitor in. I see to many sites that limit themselves to just text, but try switching the ad unit to show both.

Place Ads Close To The Main Content
Visitors tend to ignore ads on the sidebar and header. By placing an ad near the primary content, visitors will be more inclined to click because they will not ignore the ad. This tip has lead to the greatest increase in money from adsense.

Large Box Ads
The squarish rectangle ads like Medium Rectangle and Large Rectangle tend to have higher eCPM rates. Unlike smaller ads, these have the ability to also show image ads as well. Ads like skyscraper don't conform to content well, and don't receive high eCPM's.

Advanced Tips
Section Targeting
Google allows you to identify the most relevant content to generate ads from of each web page by placing html snippets into the web page.

Channels
To test each ad units effectiveness, create a channel for each ad size, this way you can identify which ad unit generate the most clicks on your site. You will easily be able to tell if the banner ads generate more money than the vertical banner ads.

Firefox Referrals
Google allows you to place Firefox referral ads on your site and you get I believe a $1 for each download. This is pretty easy money. This ad though is relevant to only to IE users because Firefox users already have Firefox.
There is a trick so that only IE users will see this ad...

How Can I Make Money With Adsense?

4:25 AM

Adsense is not a get rich quick scheme it takes hard work and the best thing to do is work on generating traffic to your website and linking not hope to make $20 a day within the first few days. Use directories, add your url to search engines such as google (google.com/addurl) and get your website listed in search engines.

Follow this model

just traffic = $
niche and traffic = $$
niche + traffic + ad placement = $$

more ads on a page = $
few ads on a page = $$

If people pay money for keywords obviously those pay more will get a better chance of getting their ads being show, fewer ads means high paying ads will show and mfas eats a$.

The thing with fewer ads is how you place the ad that it attracts a click from the visitor, which is a pain in the crap hole, but once you figure it out and master it, enjoy the mula!

Is Adwords enough to promote your website?

4:23 AM

When using adwords, which is GREAT for some things, it generally tends to give the impression that something is being sold. There isn't a huge set of website marketing campaigns using adwords where the website is about general information and not selling anything.

If all you have is a single page with a long sales letter, then definitely use adwords. When people are in a buying spirit and they see your ad, they can come right to you.

However, there is a since of credibility, trustworthiness and authority that can be perceived when a site ranks high (or at all) in the organic listing methods.

If the same site came up twice in the search engine on the same page, once in the #1 spot for organic and also in the #1 spot in the adwords section, I believe there would be an edge to getting the conversion from the organic method simply because of the impression the searcher had about how they found you.

Think about your own experience. When you look over to the right side of the Google search results page, your mind is probably already beginning to imagine the huge, colorful, "Buy Me Now", sales letter tactics to get money. And then, sometimes you reluctantly click the link and clinch.

"What's it going to be? ...What's it going to be?" you ask yourself as you cross your fingers.

Imagine if more people simply marketed their information site that wasn't selling anything. As this caught on, more and more people would click those links I believe.

In summary, the impression that you are sending your searchers is a BIG part of difference between the two.....IMHO.....

How to Generate Traffic on a Zero Budget

4:18 AM
By Tariq Giaziri

One of the most popular ways to generate free traffic to your website these days is to use a free traffic exchange service.

A traffic exchange is website service that enables you to view someone's website, and others in turn view yours. You earn credits when you view someone's site, and you use those credits to have others view your site. Internet marketers would like to know how to bring traffic to their websites quickly, without spending any money.

Traffic exchanges can accomplish this. The greatest benefit comes in when you sign up others and receive traffic from their efforts. The different types of exchanges are start page exchanges, manual surf, and auto surf.

The key is to join more than one exchange, it could be start page, manual or auto surf exchange, and promote them to get referrals.

Go to any search engine such as yahoo or excite, and search for traffic exchanges.

There are hundreds, with new ones being established everyday. With all the traffic exchanges you find from the search engines, if you join them, you will increase your traffic greatly.

How Search Engines Work or How to Get to the Top Search Engine Ranking?

4:16 AM

By Paton Jackson

These two questions are actually the same, because if one understands how search engines work, he will probably be able to get a site to the top search engines ranking. Think about it.

Unfortunately, the answer is a complicated, dynamic and a secret one. The answer has to do with SEO – Search engines optimization. In fact, very few SEO experts, SEO consultants, SEO software and SEO companies can actually give you a perfect SEO solution.

In the next few lines I will simplify how search engines work. To understand more you must contact and pay to a SEO consultant working with a popular SEO service:

1. The search engines visit your site occasionally and index new topics on your site.

2. The search engines measure the quality and popularity of your site by the number and types of links to your site by other website.

3. According to the site topics, quality and popularity and many other parameters the search engine rank the site for each keyword searched.

Now, I guess you have a website or developing one and you want to get it to the top search engine rankings. Well, If you have money I suggest you pay to an experienced SEO consultant working for one of the top SEO companies. Yet, if you do not have money, you can try doing it alone. But, be warned – a good SEO solution is time consuming. No matter which SEO software or SEO service you will be using, it will take you at least a couple of months to get your website to top search engines ranking.

Your first step would have to be reading more about the subject – reading about meta tags optimization services, keyword services, back links methods and organic SEO and using free SEO services like SEO toolbars and online SEO software. Good luck.

How to Create a Website and Earn Revenue with Google Adsense

4:10 AM
By Abi Cushman

So you've decided you'd like to create a website, and you'd like to earn a little money off it. Well, adding targeted Pay-Per-Click ads, like Google Adsense, to your site offers a quick and easy way to earn revenue without the hassle of seeking out and managing advertisers. Here are a few tips to help you get started.

Selecting a Topic
First and foremost, it is important to pick a topic that you are passionate about. If you enjoy the topic, you won't mind putting a lot of time and energy into creating a quality website. Also, starting a project with prior knowledge of the subject makes it easier for you to generate targeted, well-written content – a must when using Google Adsense successfully.

Choosing a Domain Name
Be sure you choose a domain name that is memorable, on topic, and easy to spell. This will help establish your branding, attract repeat visitors, and ease your marketing campaigns in the future.

Designing the Site
It is essential to carefully plan out the structure of the website – how the information will be broken down, what navigation items you would like, and what you would like to highlight on the homepage. Once your structure is ironed out, the next step is to design the site layout. Keep in mind you will need to leave room for the Google ads, which can be shaped like skyscrapers, banners, or squares.

If you do not have an eye for design or have any web development ability, you should hire a professional web designer to create the site for you. Based on your abilities, the web designer may train you on how to add more articles to the site by modifying the existing code, or he or she may develop a Content Management System (CMS) for you. A CMS allows you to create additional sections and articles through a user-friendly interface similar to Microsoft Word. You do not need any web design skills to input more data, and the additional pages will maintain a consistent, professional look.

Creating Google Adsense Ads
Once your site is developed, sign up for a Google Adsense account. You can then customize the shape and colors of the Google Ads using Google's Ad Format Wizard. Many times, trial and error will reveal which color scheme is most profitable for your site.

Promoting Your Site
The final step is to get the word out. You'll need to draw visitors in to your site to read that quality content and to click on those relevant Google ads. So you should submit your site to major search engines like Google and Yahoo. You should also submit your link to the Open Directory, dmoz.org, which provides data for other search engines. To attract targeted visitors, exchange links with other sites that pertain to your topic. Be sure to also promote your site offline. For example, write press releases, tell your friends, or advertise in relevant publications.

Creating a targeted, informative website takes time and persistence. But if you're willing to put the effort into making a quality site, you can earn money on a continual basis with Google Adsense.
